An Artist
"What does it mean "to write well"?
An artist--using the word in its genuine rather than childish meaning-is not a craftsman who knows how to evenly distribute "lively images", "telling details of everyday life", "colorful landscapes", and other trifles in his books; an artist is the one who finds a rhythm unknown before, and enlives and permeates the world he has created by this rhythm."

Ned and Aya Rosen. Brooklyn, NY. My favorite Quilt
I am going to be on a camping/photography trip with photographer Ryan McGinley from Aug. 3 to 25. I will not have access to the internet. I will miss posting while I am gone.
As a child I had a quilt that I carried with me everywhere through the dirt and the mud and the grass. Stained with nature's makeup innocence was something that just seemed part of life and dragging my blanket along with me just seemed like the thing to do: my warmth of home went wherever I went. And like chocolate bunnies you melt my heart, Nettie, your warmth so genuine. Good Luck, Godspeed, on your camping/photography adventure. Happiness always to you, Nettie.
